How can I make my icons smaller?

Icon too big

I have a S4 lollipop, with nova launcher. When i enter the recent apps, the search icon in the bottom middle is too big..it si big it's not even displayed entirely, it's cropped.. i have a friend with the same setup and his icon is just fine.
