How can I my note 10.1 to display on my HDTV (Not Screen Mirroring)

What 3 year old tablet is able to that? I'm curious.

This is wireless technology. I'm not talking about putting your tablet on a 10foot HDMI cable and then connecting it to a TV. Who wants to do that?

I plug in this box to my TV. I connect to my GS4 phone and it works. If my wife wants to view something on her phone, It connects. If I want to view a movie on my Note, it works. No switching cables or anything.

My Acer Iconia A500 straight forward standard micro hdmi port that a $3 micro hdmi -hdmi cable worked instantly. as for wireless, ya with a newer smart tv, but for an older tv, that's in my office, that I really don't want to invest another 60 bucks into, it is nice to be able to watch stuff from my tablet, on the tv, even if I have to have it cabled. Be nice if Chromecast supported that too, but it doesn't at this point

This was the one: Rocketfish HDMI to MHL Adapter (RF-G1171) : HDMI Accessories - Future Shop

Once again though, be aware that the output isn't going to be pretty if you have a 1080p TV. The problem isn't with the adapter but with Android and Samsung being stupid. The thing is if you play a 1080p video or something using the default Samsung video player, it will output at 1080p and look all nice and clean, but for everything else or any other apps, it will not. HDMI out on android needs some work because it seems like it's intentionally being crippled.

That's the same one I have, I'm also getting 1080p output for movies

I used this one today on my note 3 and 10.1 2014. Cable Matters MHL to HDMI Cable with Built-in USB Cable for Samsung Galaxy S3/S4 and Note 2 in Black by Cable Matters http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ATDA8C8...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU3369450
When I first tried it, it didn't work and I was fiddling with screen mirroring- turning it on - etc, had it all hooked up and nothing.... Got it to work by plugging in the HDMI last after it was hooked to power and the device first, TV last....

My ps3 isn't seeing my video files now for some reason. I have them in the correct folder on my tablet. Have the tablet connected as a media server went to video/tablet/video and nothings showing up! Frustrating.... don't know what I'm doing wrong

Does this display the entire screen on your tv? The other one I tried using (not this brand) had black bars on the side. It also was very laggy and wasn't charging the tablet at the same time.

Is this topic declared dead?
If so, this is a huge drawback to the advance of Android devices.

Is there a proven bulletproof combination of Android device [tab, phone, Note 3, Galaxy-whatever, anything] plus adapter/dock/caster/whatever that can reliably display on most of the modern HDTV's via either HDMI or wireless???? ANY... ANY?
There are a LOT of non-nerdy potential customers for such a rig. They believed wrongly they could hookup their iPAD in such fashion. Fail. Believed wrongly their iPhone could work such wonders. Fail. Believe their Galaxy Tab could do it. Fail. I can buy a cheap used PC Laptop, plug it into HDMI and be up and running on the biggest baddest HDTV in about 50 seconds flat, permanently, no hitches. What's the deal?

Uh...with a Chromecast...you can now accomplish about 90% of what the OP was looking for with native android support.

Download Plex Media Server on your tablet for $5 or whatever it is from the Play Store and you can Cast through that onto your TV. Walla!
