How can I play a downloaded Google song with Amazon music app?

I purchased a song on Google and downloaded it to my HTC 10. I can play it in the Google music app but it won't play in Amazon music. Please help.

You most likely cannot do so.

Purchased music often has copyright protection built into the files which limit the playback to the system that downloaded it. This means that the Google app probably cannot play the Amazon downloads either.

If the technology has progressed far enough for this to be no longer true, that would be great!

If you download a song using the GPM app, the song can only be accessed by the app itself. Instead, download the song to your PC from your GPM library website. Then copy that mp3 file to your phone via USB or through a cloud storage service like Google Drive. Amazon Music should then be able to play that mp3 file.
