How can I play music from my SD card?

I have the Moto Doid Turbo 2. For music I used Double Twist, and now Rocket Player. I can play songs from the phones internal storage, yet nothing that is on my SD card. Any help?

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Apps​, select the music player, then Permissions. Make sure it has permission to access your SD card.

Thanks. Yet in Permissions, it only shows "storage", not SD card or internal.

Can you find the external card with a file manager?
