On rare occasions I need a document printed ASAP. I have a no clue as to what type of printer is available. This may happen 3, 4 times a year. I use a Samsung Galaxy Note 4, 4.4 version. Not crazy about going to KitKat.

You need to download the driver whatever printer you using in play store. Setting --> printer.

You can use an app like Cloud Print, but you'll have to be able to connect to the LAN the printer is on, and you'll have to have an idea of what printer it is. If you're given the choice of 2 or 3 printers, you have to know which one to choose. (If they're all the same model, you choose one and hope that no one minds that you printed from their printer.)

Choose Share from any app, and one of the things you can share to is Cloud Print - that will print the data on the app, document, picture, whatever. You'll first have to connect to the LAN, then run Cloud Print and tell it to use the printer you want to print to.
