Not sure if you can remove it or just 'Freeze' it. But if you tap and hold on the Outlook app in the App Drawer, there should be an Information icon that you can drag that into (or you can look for the Outlook app in the Application Manager in your Settings). In that screen, if there's an UNINSTALL option, you can get rid of the app completely. But if there's only a DISABLE option, the app will still be in your phone, but will be dormant. The only way to get rid of those apps is to root your phone.

If you are referring to outlook not native email app because you have installed it as part of office365 from your company etc often it has additional security settings and polices

If this is the case you will need to remove (un toggle) settings/lock screen and security/other security setting/device administrators then you should be able to remove it

It is also similar for native email to disable

These phones come with some MS apps pre-installed, including Outlook (besides the native e-mail app). Some have the OneDrive app, which also gives you nearly 250GB free for a couple years, IIRC.

Not all come with them and having an Office 365 account allows additional apps to be installed eg Lync 2013

My point is to the OP is you may have to disable the security settings prior to being able to remove or disable the app

Re: how can I remove Outlook app from My S6 Samsung

For what it's worth, my phone is an AT&T S6 64gb ... and it did NOT come with Outlook pre-installed. The only MS app I know of that came on the phone is OneNote, which I disabled right away because I simply don't use it or need it.

You mind me asking what carrier you have, or if you purchased the phone outside of a carrier, where you got it?

My Edge was the same as your only OneNote pre-installed I too disabled it

However my company gives me access to Office 365 which allows me to install it on 4 PC's/MACS and several android apps which enables better synch'ing with my company. I thought I would try outlook on the hope that it was different to stock email in so far I could change the back ground colour to black like on the S4/5. When I came to remove outlook the buttons were greyed out until I removed the security settings on the account

The reason behind this and to answer your other question I am in the middle east and all our phones are unlocked international versions G925F, the black background is better for both battery and clarity in bright sunlight that we get 350 days of the year :)

On a side issue for some reason the free MSOffice tools for android are blocked in the middle east :(

Go to settings, security, phone admins, uncheck outlook then you can uninstall. At least that's what worked on lg g4.

I've looked through several forums with people who did not know what they were talking about. Thank you for finally helping me figure out how to uninstall this pesky Outlook app.

This worked perfectly!! I was starting to think I could never get this app off my S6 but following these instructions I did it!:D

So I found out exactly how to do this. It took me a few minutes to figure out what tncool was saying but do this:

  • Settings
  • Lock screen and security
  • Other security settings
  • Device administrators
And in Device administrators you need to unselect Outlook. Once you've done this you can remove Outlook from your device the usual way.

Perfect. Thank you. A lot of opinions from many, but very few useful suggestions. I appreciate your help

Thank you! I had removed the account but left the app and I still couldn't set my phone to not have a lock screen or remove the app.
That seems seriously sketchy how they did that!
