how can I root my sg5?

[AC Question]

I was with Verizon, now with t-mobile. I bought my phone at best buy and owe nothing. when I first switched to t-mobile everything worked fine. Four days later data not working, multimedia messages do not d/l (receive) or u/l (send). I spoke to t-mobile who helped me adjust my apn settings (twice) and even changed the sim card thinking it was bad. At this time everthing points to the verizon software on the galaxy 5s and I need to root the phone. Can you help?
