Is there any way to save images found through google search without having to go to "view original image?"

Long pressing on the image does nothing, and if I press the three vertical dots it lists "View original image" and when I press that it takes me to the image where I can then long press and choose to download it. It seems a bit cumbersome of a process.

Long pressing works for me if I press on a picture and hold it it shows 'download picture'.

For whatever reason that doesn't work for me.

If I long press nothing happens. When I press the three dots it gives me the option to view original image. When I press that and it takes me to the image, I can then long press and only then do I get the option to download:

You can always screenshot it and crop to what you want saved

I think it's a limitation of the Google app. If you do an image search using the Google app, you can see the results, but you can't download those images directly -- you have to view the original image (which gets opened up in a browser), and download from there.

Oh snap! You're right!!

All this time I've been searching through the app and not the browser!

Thanks!

Even though you have resolved your problem, I would like to let you know that some images can't be downloaded from either copyright protection, or if its a vector graphic like an SVG. I've noticed neither the Chrome or Firefox mobile browsers allow you to download them. You need to use other means to obtain these types of images like an offline browser.

I would choose to screenshot to save the copyright-protected picture. I just use them for personal use.
