How can I search for files on the sc card?

Maybe I'm missing something simple, but I want to be able to search for a certain file on my sd card and can't figure out how to do it. If I use the hard button for searching, it just wants to search the internet.

While I'm in this thread, lets say that I have a number of my contacts that have sent me testimonials and I added the data to the notes section of those contacts. Is there a way to search for the word "testimonials" and find all contacts that have that word embedded in their contact data?

Have u used the file app in the X? Or better yet DL Astro file manager from the market.

The File app just lets you browse through the directories, not actually type a file name for searching. Astro might...I'll try it out.

On my bb, you could launch a search for and string of text and select where on the phone it searched (contacts, calendar, etc...). Is there anything like that for android?

No that is why we need a file app. Just the way android runs

I found Aurora Universal Search in the market (free). It allows all searching, including for a string of text that exist in a contact or a calendar event.
