AC Question

New Note 4
Facebook repeatedly updates without my consent.
I repeatedly uninstall and reload the version supplied by Samsung and Three ( return to factory install ) only to find it updated again within hours.
I have Playstore Auto-Update set to OFF
I have install from Unknown Sources disabled in Settings/Security.
Somehow Facebook, Samsung or Google Playstore are circumventing my preferences.
Any help would be welcome

Please post back here if you could apply this fix, especially without a reset.

Let us know what you did to apply this fix. Many are having this problem and if we can know exactly the ways we can fix it, it sure would help.

Thanks it worked, I uninstalled the updates first and then clear data, the I disabled the facebook app installer and app manager. I'm using the factory version now because I can't update the app with the downloaded v.28 apk of facebook so better stuck in the factory version without the automatic updater. Btw im using Samsung Galaxy J2 prime

Did disbaling and clearing data of all the Facebook crud in the App settings, and reinstalled an old apk which runs smooth on my S8.

Now they've removed the "Disable App update" from inside the "App Settings" menu within the Facebook app.

The latest facebook versions are a huge memory hog and laden with bugs. I don't get to see replies to comments and i see too many sponsored ads despite opting out of all advert settings from within the facebook app.

This is an old thread, but I think the same "issue" is still happening.

With:
- google play store set to not do any auto app updates
- both the Facebook app installer and the Facebook app manager (separate apps from the actual main Facebook app or Messenger app) set as disabled
- with the main Facebook app set to not be allowed to work in the background
- with settings in the Facebook app set to not do auto updates
.....I will still periodically see notifications indicating "....installing Facebook feature"

This sucks (in my opinion).
