How can I stop my Samsung Galaxy S4 and S4 Active from choosing 4G over WIFI?

Samsung Galaxy S4 and S4 Active Choosing 4G over WIFI

I am frustrated that my Samsung Galaxy S4 and my husband's S4Active is eating up our data when we are at home because it chooses the data over WIFI. The phone shows that it is connected to WIFI but doesn't use it. I have searched high and low on the internet and can't find a solution. Under WIFI the "smart network switch" is unchecked. On another forum I saw something about removing the Caller ID App, but I don't see that under my Apps under Settings -> More--> All. I asked AT&T and they told me that's what the Android phones do - they use data even if connected to WIFI. Makes no sense!!

Any other things I can do to work around this other than turning my data off when I am at home (which is so annoying and exhausting to remember to do).

That's what some carriers do so that you'll use more data. Just turn mobile data off when you're at home. Data Enabler Widget makes it easy. (You can still get and make phone calls and text with mobile data off.)
