Samsung Note 4 Keeps Rebooting

I purchased my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in October 2014 when it was released by AT&T. Last month, whenever I am in my photo library browsing photos, it freezes and then reboots. It's quite annoying. I have heard to "Format SD Card", but I don't want to lose all my photos. I love this phone and don't want to have to attempt to get customer service from AT&T and then most likely be sent another Note 4 (which will most likely refurbished knowing AT&T regardless of my warranty).... Does anyone have a solution??

Re: Samsung Note 4 Keeps Rebooting

You could try a different SD card. I have had a number of them fail in the last few years from different brands.

With that being said, I also have rebooting problems after the Lollipop update on my Sprint Note 4. It then freezes at the boot screen with a dim backlight and the LED light solid blue. Has happened about 10 times so far. I've done a factory reset already.

This is at random when the phone isn't being used.

So hook your phone to your computer and copy all of the data from the card to a temporary directory, everything on the card. Then format the card using the Note 4. Hook the phone back to the computer and copy the data back on the card. Maybe it will fix your problem.

try different photo app like "Quickpic" and see if it act the same way. If not, then the issue is with the app not the SD and you need to format cache and data of the app.

Or copy some pictures to the phone, remove the SD card, and see if it still reboots. If it does, it's not the card.

As for the refurb, you get a new phone if the old one fails within 2 weeks. After that you're giving them a used phone, so you get a refurb. (The warranty doesn't say "will be replaced with a new phone".) I had the original note 3 and a new in the box replacement fail. The second replacement was a refurb. I'm still using it.
