AC Question
Samsung s3 randomly shuts down
My samsung galaxy s3 has started to turn itself off randomly every few hours. Usually overnight and usually during the day after a few hours of sitting idle.
I have googled a fix but many are pointing to the battery (I have a new battery that has worked flawlessly for the past 2 months prior to this switch off problem, which has started occurring this fortnight)
I tried the old battery too, to be sure it wasn't the battery. Incidentally, when it randomly turns off it sometimes drains the battery from 100% to 30% or 20% or 5% and other times the battery is not effected (still at say 95%). weird.
I decided to do a FULL reset using the - "hold power button, home button and up on volume" I went for a "wipe cache partition" then I also tried a "reboot system" and finally a "wipe data/factory reset". The phone was wiped clean and I started from scratch. The 'turn off' problem still persisted.
I also saw many posts saying it is a faulty power button. I doubt this is the case because it happens sitting flat on a table with noone touching it.
At this point I want to throw it at a wall !! I would love to hear from anyone who has fixed this problem. thanks
