Re: xperia z3 and sd card damaging

Welcome to Android Central! How is it getting damaged? Are the files getting corrupted? The card itself might be failing or defective. Try a different card.

My micro sd card did this recently suggesting my only option was to reformat and loose everything or buy a new card. Instead I read a thread about buying a recovery app. I did this on my husbands Mac, at first with a free trial, and it showed everything was still there. I had to pay £35 to then retrieve it, tho I would then have the programme to reuse if it happened again. I saved all my pictures down and put it back into my phone expecting I would then need to reformat it and erase everything to see if it was still damaged and have to buy a new one. When I put it in it worked fine and low and behold all original pictures, apps etc reappeared and are working fine! Don't know why and can't guarantee it won't happen again, but whatever 'bug' it is it seems to have gone for now and I've nearly had to learn the hard way about backing everything up.
