AC Question

Hi there,

I have recorded a number of audio files using the Voice Recorder on my Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini. I want to transfer them all to the Music Player, so that I can create a playlist and listen to them all on repeat (I am trying to learn lines for a play and want to play the tracks consecutively over and over again as I sleep and when I run to get them embedded in my mind!) I can't find a way to move them/copy them to the Music Player though.

Can anyone help please?

Many thanks!

The Music App doesn't really 'hold' music, it just sees music files that are compatible with it, anywhere in your phone. IIRC the format the voice recorder uses is not compatible with the Music Player, which is why you don't see them in the list. Try converting those files to MP3 and save them to a folder in your phone. The next time you open the Music Player, they should show up.

Hi Guys,

I am also trying to swap over voice recording files from my S5 handset to my laptop. However when I connect my phone to my laptop via USB, I can see the usual and individual handset files pop up. Mine are alarms, android, bmwgroup, com.facebook.orca, DCIM, download, media, movies, music, my optus, notifications, pictures, playlists, podcasts, ringtones, samsung, SAVED IGC FILES, Smartswitch, sounds, tunedin radio, whatsapp, yahoo. I can see that these relate to specific apps but I can also see that some are standard files.

I can also view these in the My Files app on my handset, as you mention above B. Diddy. On my handset, at 'My Files - sounds', I can see the voice recording files that I want to extract & swap to my PC / laptop. But when I view the sounds folder through my handset external drive files (for the want of a better description) I cannot see or extract these voice files. Does this make sence or has anyone seen this issue arise before. Because of this, for now, I cannot use the upload from te google drive method.

Signed,

Frustrated!!!!!!!

Hi. I had this problem. The reason you are not seeing the voice recordings (or any sound recordings) is because the check-box "Camera (PTP)" (allows you to transfer photos using camera software, and transfer any files onto PC that do not support MTP) is selected.

This check-box is under "USB PC connection"

Instead, click on the check-box that says "Media device (MTP)". You should then be able to see your voice recordings when the phone is connected to your pc via USB cable.
