How can I transfer SMS and contacts from a black screened phone (Razr M) to my PC?

want to transfer sms and contacts from black screened phone (Razr M) to PC........

My Razr M went black-screen today. I thought it was dead, but then it buzzed and the text light blinked. I hooked it up to my computer through the USB cable and I ripped all of the "Internal storage" drive contents successfully and my phone appears to talk to my computer just fine, but that's not where the SMS and Contact info is held (to my knowledge anyways).

I haven't backed up my phone for a while, so it's a bit out of date. I was just wondering if there was a way to pull my texts and contacts from the phone without having to do any setup on the phone itself since the screen is blank. I know it's a bit of a long shot, but that would be handy if it were possible.

Have you try using a recovery software like "Recovery Android"? www DOT recovery-android DOT com

I've looked at a couple although not that one specifically. The problem I always run into is those programs always seem to require setup on the phone and my screen is dead, so that's no good.

I've heard of programs to browse your android after it's rooted without phone setup, but my phone's not rooted right now and rooting the phone often requires phone setup as well, so that's no good either. I'm wondering if my info was stored on my micro SD card. I *think* I stored my contacts there, but I'm not sure and I can't find my adapters to plug it into my computer. I'm not sure how often it backs up my contacts to the SD card either or if it was a one-time thing. I don't remember how I had that set up.
