How can I use my MOTO E as a wireless extender/repeater?

Using MOTO E as wireless extender/repeater

Is it possible to share a wifi connection through my MOTO E? The idea is very much like a hotspot over wifi but I dont need cellular data. Just simply a way to connect another device to my home network when that device is out of range of AP but in range of MOTO E. (trying not to use extender hardware not much success)

Welcome to Android Central! The solutions I've seen require root. You could consider fqrouter2, but the version on Google Play Store doesn't work on KitKat and above--they give a separate download link for a more current version, but it's not on Google Play, so you download at your own risk.

If I were, I would rather use wireless extender. It is more convenient to use. You said it doesn't have much success, may be you don't have to choose a good product.
