How can I use my upgrade to buy a phone online?

I'm looking to buy a Droid X from amazon but it looks as if I would need to pay for the whole plan. I'm on a family plan and I'm not the main line or whatever it is. Can I still buy it at the discounted price?

I think you can get it directly from verizon for $49 now. Sorry I can't help with the amazon part, but I always buy directly from verizon. They always take care of me if I have problems down the road. To me, that's worth saving a few dollars.

Check out Amazon.com wireless/your carrier. You can do it all right there at the Amazon prices, even renewing your contract, etc.

wouldn't I need the account info and everything? How else would they know whos it it?
