How can Verizon be so clueless on the most recent problems?

I called Verizon twice and Samsung once on the most recent issues that most of us have been plagued with since the last OTA a week ago. All three times I called, the person was totally clueless as to the problems at hand. How can this be? Are they that brain dead? They told me that I'm the first person to call with this problem........yeah, sure I'm not! Of course, the next words out of their mouth to start trouble shooting is a factory reset. I am beyond frustrated!

Any one else experience this pain yet? I'm about ready to bite the bullet and ask for a CLNR replacement phone since it should come without the last update. However, I paid for a new phone, not a refurbished one. What a royal pain!!!

Yes, I went through the exact same thing, but they denied adding Call Name ID to the update, and blamed me for the problem. I ported my number to Sprint.

If people were to return them rather than complain they would be quicker to respond in the future and maybe more careful

I ordered a CLNR and got it already. Once u powered on it asked to update and I deferred until I got home when I rooted. Problem solved :-)

Since you deferred, you obviously didn't update with the recent OTA. Is your phone back running the way it was prior?

Are you questioning the business operation procedures and ethics of a mega-corporation in cahoots with the government? :P

Yeah I did the same thing...I didn't get a CLNR but was one of the many who's device was destroyed by the update, so I rooted/unlocked the device and cleared the cache partition (along with factory reset and clearing davlik cache) and flashed CleanRom and was good as new. I will never go to stock again.

I had talked to a tech guy at Verizon 2 days after the ota update and mentioned the issues people were having. He fully acknowledge the issue and said they were working on it but didn't have a time frame because no one knew exactly what was the cause. The second tier support is a lot different than the first. I don't see why they can't simply put out a roll back update just to keep users cool in the meantime.
