How Come My Kindle Fire (Custom Rom,android 4.0.4) wont Recognize To Windows Vista

i have tried rebooting each device,and the computer won't see my device,i have the adb drivers installed,so why won't my windows vista see my kindle,not even in the device manager. PLEASE help.
