How do changing plans works?

Given that I'm on family plan, but my friend doesn't want it anymore so I want to change to the normal one (50$). Never mind my reasons or choices I just don't see it clearly.
Now I'm paying 110$ for family plan how can I change to another plan and if you please tell me how my bill would look like the first month?

Also, if data plans from TMO are pre-paid, why do they tell me I have balance due?

You should be able to switch your plan by logging in online. For yoru first bill ... they should pro-rate the bill for the time you were on the family plan & the time you were on the new plan.

If you want exact specifics I would just give them a call.

T-Mobile has both prepaid and postpaid plans. The normal "simple choice" plans are all postpaid.
