How do I change the format of downloaded documents?

Change format of downloaded documents

I find that most of the documents I download on my Galaxy S7 are not readable, in that a lot of the text disappears off the right side of the 'page'.
Any ideas how I might change the formatting so that the whole document can be read?

U can use the files editor to change the extension or change the format in your desktop by connecting your phone via usb cable.

To change the format, you need an app that can read the current format and write a new format that you desire.
What is the current format that is causing you problems?

Thanks so much for your responses.
The most recent one I've had this issue with is .docx

I really just want to be able to read on screen (not so concerned with the actual formatting in terms of transferring to my desktop)

Just had a .docx document that cut off the last few words of each line.
