AC Question

On previous Galaxy phones, you can change the colour and style of the text bubbles.

I have a Galaxy S8 and I can't find where to change them anywhere.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

They got rid of it. It's not there on the S7 series too.

Sucks cause I wanted to change it too.

Textra allows this. It's third party, but I like it. You can even change the emoji style that displays in the app.

If using the VZW messenger, you change it in the app. (It's something VZW actually does right)

Samsung Messenger doesn't have the capability, but your carrier's messenger may have it.. I have VZW messenger which is able to change the color and style of the text bubble. However, I don't really like the look of VZW so I stick with Samsung Messenger (my preference).. Also there are numerous 3rd party apps to support your desires.

You can do it with your S8 model by going to you apps, choosing the messages app icon, and it will ask you if you would like to use message+ or messages as your default sms app, choose messages and it will change to the theme you downloaded. You can always change back to message+ by going to settings, clicking on the app and setting it back to default

Definitely can't do it with the stock messenger. If you could, it would likely be under Settings » Backgrounds ( except that Backgrounds would likely be called Customize or something, rather than just  Backgrounds). I too found it odd, when I first got this phone, that you can change the stock messenger's background but not the bubbles themselves, unlike prior Galaxy models. But of course, Google Play has a wide selection of messaging replacement apps that have way more customization options ( including bubble color and style ) than the stock messenger, with Textra having been mentioned for one, and if you're intent on customizing this would be the way to go.

I use an app called theme Galaxy and you could color the message bubbles any color you want I use it constantly I probably have a new theme on my phone every 3 or 4 days
