Question How do I copy my contacts on the SIM to my phone?

I am planning to change to a new provider. I have the new SIM and want to copy the contacts on my current SIM to my phone then copy them to my new SIM after I have inserted it into my phone. Google's instructions don't work nor do the instructions on the YouTube video.

I can't recall the last time I had contacts saved on a SIM. However, if you enable Google Contacts Sync in your Google account, it may automatically move them from the SIM to your Google Contacts. Then (my suggestion) leave them alone. Don't be putting them back on a SIM.

1. Open Settings on your phone.
2. Tap on Google and then "Settings for Google apps".
3. Tap "Google Contacts sync".
4. Select "Also sync device and SIM contacts" to activate it.

why the sim, gmail is on every device you use, both old/new, so are contacts!!

The instructions are likely generic but even generic instructions for Android should be able to be followed even if the screens are not "exactly" the same.

What phone do you have? Try looking up how to sync contacts from SIM and Google Contacts and include the name of your device. For example, "S24U (insert your device name instead) how to combine/sync/backup/merge contacts from SIM to Google Contacts" Sort by Video and voila videos that should show you the same screens you have with instructions how to perform task.
