When I try to backup or export Contacts I get a message that 'information may be lost'. The installed File Manager app can't find Contacts. So how do I copy or backup Contacts w/o losing any info (thumbnails, Notes, etc)?

Go to contacts - Export - to SD card .
The file will save as .vcf Save the file in specified folder.
And to import it will search, find the file and restores.
I recommend you to save the .vcf in dropbox or cloud which would be far easy.
Or else try Android applications like super backup.

I save mine (export) to my external SD card. Then, one benefit, if I ever switch phones it goes with me. But, I also back them up with Verizons Cloud. Oh, and that notification you get, when I back them up to SD card I also get that. BUT have never lost any info at all.

Open contacts, in upper right click on the 3 dots, click on manage contacts, click on back up, you should get options of where to save. I saved mine to SD. When I tried to save to SIM I got the "some info may be lost" message you are referring to.

I tried to update my contacts to Google Mail where I have my un updated list and can't figure it out, so I just saved to SD card. Does anyone know how to upload contacts to google mail?
