How do I delete apps which appear on my home screen such as Hulu and Badland?

Update: Duh.. go into the Google Play Store, find the app and uninstall.

This thing is so simple to set up and run! I love how I can cast. One thing I really wish for is the ability to customize the home screen.
Are there any apps better than Chromecast for casting?

Does anyone know if there is a button combination or way to take a screenshot with the nexus player?

Don't know of any way to do that. I know some people have loaded Nova Launcher which provides an entire new UI. It kinda defeats the purpose, also I believe you'll lose voice search once you switch launchers. The nice thing is you should be able to go back and forth between launchers without any major hassle. Just like loading Chainfires Sideload, Nova is a more extensive version, since thats all they do. I run Nova on my phone and like it.
