How do I disable swipe to unlock when I have pattern unlock?

Not sure if this might help, but the ZCamera app when disabled seems to get rid of the Swipe to Unlock screen on my HTC 10...it was bugging me too...i disabled this app and it hasn't shown up again so far for me

Try turning off trusted devices. Having this option on allows Bluetooth devices to unlock your phone for you or adds the swipe option like it did for me.

Exactly. Unlocking the phone all the time is not very convenient, thats why there is Smart lock, based on location, trusted devices, voice and on body detection. In order to unlock with fingerprint or some other method without swiping befote you have to disable all of the Smart lock functions.

I also experienced this problem but succeeded in sorting it out. ha had my Bluetooth enabled and my headphones were added as Trusted Device and connected to the phone. This Trusted Device was actually unlocking the phone. Check details in Smart Lock option. Nothing wrong with phone or operating system; in fact it's an amazing feature.

Funny. I went searching for this for my new S8 to turn off swipe and found my own posts from a year ago. Problem is I did get rid of the swipe screen after this thread but I don't remember how.

I just upgraded to S8+ from S5 (hey it was working fine) ... Anyway I find the fingerprint at the back as hassle. Is there anyway to get rid of the swipe to unlock and just go straight to the Pattern?

I read all previous posts and it appears-
Option 1 - no 'swipe to unlock' no 'pattern' use fingerprint
Option 2 - no swipe to unlock or pattern leave phone unlocked

I want just the 'pattern'

PS I already have my car as a trusted device so I do not need to unlock in the car.

Thanks

Where is that?

I also came here because of this problem, just upgraded to Android 6 and FUMING with anger because I did. I have a Samsung J700F

I tried this method -- and I don't think it's tackling what's expected.

I have the same issue. I have an S7 and I receive a message, resulting in a notification. I expand the notification on the lockscreen, and tap the notification area. I'm then prompted to SWIPE UP to unlock the phone.
With the proposed fix (Settings > Lock Screen & Security > Secure Lock Settings > Lock Automatically > set to 'Immediately), the issue remains. This proposed fix is simply the time-out of "how long should the phone remain UNLOCKED once the screen goes dark.

Perhaps I'm missing the issue here from the OP, but I believe I'm correct in my problem statement.
I'm frustrated with this, too.
I guess I can understand the use case scenario of "the phone receives a notification, the phone is in the pocket and THIS feature ensures the phone will not be accidentally unlocked".

And as for the suggested fix of removing all lock screen security -- not an option for me.
I have work email on the phone and sensitive data -- I'd rather not leave the phone open for anyone who wants to get into any area of the phone.

SOLUTION

My S7 requires me to swipe before I can enter my pattern to unlock. I just want to turn on the screen and use the pattern like I did on my S4.

Read some older post saying to turn off smart lock, but I have none of those turned on.

I've been trying to solve this for a little while and finally found what I think might be the closest solution without having to resort to using the fingerprint scanner. It does however, require you to longpress the home button rather than just tap it once to get the phone awake, but you'll find the slider to change home button's pressure sensitivity at the bottom of the same settings page.

So, where would the setting for this be? Why, hidden amongst the Navigation Bar settings of course, where else? Because in good ol' Samsung tradition, the setting you want can always be found anywhere else except somewhere logical.

Settings > Display > Navigation Bar
- Enable Unlock with Home Button

Now if only I can find a quickfix to disable the camera screen auto timeout :)

Re: SOLUTION

I own a Note 8.
To get rid of the initial swipe and go straight to the pin/pattern:

- Settings
- Display
- Navigation Bar
- Unlock with Home Button (turn this on)

If no security is set up, will go right into the home screen. If you have pin, pattern, or password set up, it will go right to this authentication screen without having to swipe first. Note this only works with touching the home button to access, not the side power button.

Hope this helps.

If you go to Settings>Security>The little small settings button next to the screen lock option>Turn on Unlock directly to pattern, you can skip the swipe to unlock. The only downside is that you can't see notifications or the time and go straight to the pattern. (I'm running android 7.1)
