How do I edit contacts on the MAXX?

I am trying to add area codes in my contacts, some of them didn't have area codes. How do I edit my contacts? I've been trying without success....

If your contacts are in your Google account, I would edit them online and they will sync to your phone.

To edit on your phone, open a contact and press the three little dots in the upper right corner.

Choose edit.
