How do I enable my Samsung Galaxy Frontier 3 to control Spotify through a Bluetooth speaker?

I have been using my phone to control Spotify on a JBL Charge 3 but it is a hassle when I have it in a drybag while standup paddleboarding. I would like to control playback, skip, and other features using my Samsung watch instead.
