how to find the xperia z3 got ingress in water .

Took an underwater video just for 12 seconds and my Z3 is dead. When checked my display back-light was not working correctly , lcd panel or whatever you call that it was not working ...But one-thing my device is in ON condition and i'm able see the notification light blinking and i can receive a call and my phone gets vibrate, but as per my true knowledge all flaps r wt u call it as sim and charging slot caps were closed but they are saying the water got inside, when I went to Sony Centers and after the explanation and talks my warranty is voided. HAHAHA 😭and they said i have to pay money fa service and no replacement of phone

That's hard luck, but I don't think it's an underwater camera. Doesn't it have a camera button you need to press.

We're your ports closed on your simcard / sd card and charge area?? The headset jack at the top would hurt anything but you do have warranty I hope but good luck 🍀

Welcome to Android Central.

Thanks for coming back.

Ouch, that's about £172.00 where I am in London.

Not great customer service then.
Did they specifically say what caused the problem, what the fault was and why they would not cover it.

I sometimes think stores or manufacturers decide whether to cover the damage based on who the customer is and whether they can get away with it, - a teenager against a mature lawyer for example.

The water protection rating is a grey area and I think many others like you have been caught out.
As one of our site ambassadors here (Rukbat) said - it's a question of reading the small print.

I hope it works fine for you now and you still get enjoyment out of it.

If you still have concerns about future water damage we have plenty of owners here who can advise you.
