AC Question

Good evening, ladies and gents. I have samsung S6 and for some reason, a mute symbol now appears over the time of the last text I received from a certain contact.

I haven't blocked this contact and in it's settings, both the ringtone and the message tone are the default, however, since it showed up (naturally) I don't receive any sort of notification when it sends me a text message.

Can anyone help me?

No down arrow

I have that problem now with my S7, and there IS NO DOWN ARROW (or up arrow) next to the phone number. I had an update a week or so ago, so my whole phone is re-arranged now. Anyone know how to get the damn thing to work now?

I have an S6 and there is no down arrow next to the name in the thread but I see a little bell with a bar through it next to my daughter's name. Getting really frustrated! Been to every setting imaginable.

OK I just found it...at the BOTTOM of the screen. In the actual convo, hit the three bars on the upper right. A side panel will slide out and at the bottom is the muted bell icon. Tap it and voila! (It turns orange.)

Solved.Sound Not Received when New Text Message Lands on Mobile

Go to you SMS app ie Message open it, your all SMS will be visible to you, for messages that are showing Mute Symbol, just click one of the message and hold that message on bottom for a while, two options will appear "Notification" and "Delete" on bottom of screen, choose notification and the mute sign will disappear from that particular message.

In case some other messages are also mute you can select the message and from left top select "All" option all the messages will be selected, click on "Notification" coming below on the screen. In first attempt it will mute all the messages, repeat it again and in the second attempt mute sign from all messages, will disappear and you will start to receive text sound when new messages will land in your mobile from any number or short code.
