I want to use my HTC widgets but after I upgrade to like Launcher Pro or any other Launcher for that matter, when I go to add a widget all those awesome HTC widgets are not available.

Sense Widget's only work with Sense ROMs and not other custom Launchers... they do not work on other Launchers like LauncherPro, Go Launcher or ADW.

Oh ok... well that frikn' sucks.

That's normalcy. It's the same way if you want to (for some reason) use LPP widgets ADW Launcher. you can't because LPP widgets weren't made for ADW framework. SENSE widgets are for SENSE launchers.

You can try apw Widgets. Worth a shot.

Honestly I really like Android Pro Widgets. I use an AOSP ROM, so I have no way of getting Sense widgets (which are literally the only thing I miss), but these fill the gap in for me nicely.

Its far from the perfect fit, but its honestly not bad at all.

I totally agree with you! I'm also on a non sense rom and Android pro Widgets is great. Easily worth the couple bucks. I recommend it to others.

I'm using Go launcher. I like it so far but things like the Sense widgets and lock screen features I'm really starting to miss. Might just take it off (the launcher that is)

For the Widgets have you checked out android pro Widgets? You may like it to use with your launcher.

Hi DirtMCGirt. I had a Tbolt for the 14 day grace period when it first came out but sent it back to be able to compare the others and I ended up with a Droid Charge. At first I really missed the Sense UI customization and clock/weather animations. So I improvised. I loaded Go Launcher EX and then found the widgets described below. I don't know if these will work for you but I use them on my Charge and they work fine. Will take some doing but they should work.
I first added Weather & Toggle Widget, then add Weather Widget Forecast Addon.
Once installed add the widget Weather & Flip Clock to your home screen and set up your area. You should have a clock and weather at this point. I have all the HTC animations including the rain and the wiper blades, clouds, the whole bit. To make sure the animations are right go into the Addon Settings and check on Fancy Cloud Animation and Clod animation on forcast if you want that.

You can have a ton of different clocks with this widget also but you have to install the skins for it. Hope I help you get this right, if not I’m sure others out there will chime in and fix it
So for the clock skins, here is where it gets tricky for me because I can't remember exactly how I did this but maybe you can get through it. Click on the weather part of the clock, go to settings, weather settings. Scrolling down you see Weather Skin Prefs and Clock Skin Prefs. I think you go to Weather Skin Downloader and get the H7C weather mirror. Then do the same for the Clock. One way or another you have to download a zipped file of the skins to your SD card and then go back to the settings and choose Install skin from SD card.

I think another way to do it is through the Widget Skin Wizard. I’m sorry it's been awhile since I did it and can’t remember the exact order of events, you’ll just have to play with it a little but can assure you it can be done and it works. Once you get the skins, you apply them in 3 steps. Settings, Weather setting, Widget Skin wizard, Skin Gallery, Clock Widget Skin and it should download a list.

I have 20+ different clock skin options and I really like being able to customize the look of the clock to the match the different wall papers. I’m a fan of Zedge for wallpapers. Hope this helps some.

Use beautiful widgets for the clock/weather, use either Android Pro Widgets or Go Widgets (with clear theme) to replace the other sense widgets. I have Sense 3.0, but I find Go Launcher EX much less restrictive & it has many more customizations than any other launcher I've used. If you haven't used the GO Widgets message widget, then you are missing out! The 4x4 version eliminates the need to even open the home launcher. Now that they support themes, they are awesome (the stock theme looks like facebook... not my style... but the new transparent theme is pretty slick)! When I went to sense 3.0 I tried going back to stock & found that I really missed my other widgets & launcher. I have no desire for sense widgets, anymore (ok, the 3.0 lock screen is way cool)!

As for the sense 3.0 lock screen, you may want to check out agile lock. It works really well. It is the same sort of ring lock with the 4 programs. The only thing it doesn't have is the friend stream integration. I found the widgets for facebook and twitter for the go launcher ex are the closest widgets I have found to replace my friend stream. They are both 4x4 scrollable widgets similar to friendstream.

I personally like the weather version of the lock screen. GO Widgets are pretty sweet, although if you want to replicate the sense look, APW is a good choice. One thing I live about the GO Dev products is that they are always upswing them with new features! If they are missing something now, just tell the developer & it'll probably come along shortly!

You also have Pure widgets (Pure calendar, Pure messenger ... ) which works on all launchers and are scrollable on LP, ADW, Go Launcher ...

It stands for Android Open Source Project. Basically meaning it is vanilla android. Rom made without an overlay such as sense . :-)

I'd like to see all android devices aosp with the OPTION (no italics in tapatalk) to use sense or blur or whatever the individual manufacturer wants to add.

If any of the aosp roms were bug free I would have rooted by now.

Yeah that would be great, i would welcome that as well. For now i just try themes to replicate the look of them when i get bored. I have a tendency of changing up my phone alot. The perks of Rooting took over my life lol jk. Closest rom from my experience that is stable is cyanogen. Good luck if you decide to root :)
