How do I get rid of the Bixby icon?

no, I did not. I used to be able to drag the icon up and trash it. That does not work now

Do you have Bixby enabled? Is there a new setting to put its icon on the screen?

Put phone in safe mode see if it still there

Press power button, once power device shows up on screen long press until says safe mode then tap it , and to exit out just reboot the phone.

ok did that, thanks. The Bixby icon does not go away in safe mode. I'm stumped

Sorry, but have you changed wallpapers just to rule that out. It REALLY looks like wallpaper

I know you said it's plain black, but maybe it's not.

Try resetting launcher , clear it's data,cache, force stop. Or reset settings , to that go settings >general management >reset >reset settings

Found the problem!! ..settings>Accessibility>Interaction and dexterity>Assistant menu ...Turned That OFF! ..icon now gone yippie!!
