How do I get rid of the clock and date on my lock screen

All I want on my lockscreen is the wallpaper that I put on there not the clock

Long-press it and slide to Remove. It will then be stowed away in your Widgets locker.

The proffered solution does not work. Long press does nothing on lock screen. From what I've read on other forums, you can find a theme that replaces the clock, but you can't get rid of the clock. If that's wrong, and someone knows how, please share. (S7Edge, with Nougat)

Long press does work. Then you can slide it up and remove it.

As Friday Ululani1 stated, long press does NOT work on the LOCK screen. Did anyone have any other suggestions?

Of course this does not work. Lock screen means it is locked. Swipe up and the lock screen disappears! catch 22!! My lockscreen date is different from the current date! Anyone fix that?
