How do i get rid of the lock screen in app?

I have recently updated to Android Pie (S8) and now my games dim after 2 min and I get a lock screen and the game slows down significantly. The app still runs but it shows a lock in the middle of the screen and the battery level at the bottom. I run alot of apps on auto throughout the day using a screen on app and before my phone never did this. Please help!

Have you checked the settings in game mode?

While in game, swipe down twice to reveal the notification shade. You will see game tools. Tap that, then under advanced, turn off touch lock.
