How do i get rid of the stupid floating keyboard

I have a note 9. Just got system update 5 and I HATE the stupid floating keyboard crap. I want it back where it always comes up at the bottom and moves the text box up.

It's odd to me, how different the settings menus are between different versions of the same phone.
My Verizon branded Note 9 does not have this floating keyboard setting.

Well i guess i need to apologize, i read your message and i am on a Verizon phone also, so i went to look and now i can't find it anywhere.

I opened the keyboard in messages and clicked the far right down button, it shows more options, and one if them is mode. When you click mode the floating keyboard is an option.

I still swear i saw originally in the first directions i gave lol.

My LG G5 Oreo 8.0 does not seem to have the floating keyboard option, but my Samsung S4 does. Pressing the microphone button - 2nd from bottom left on the keyboard in messenger - opens up a sub menu with a keyboard symbol on the right. This symbol toggles the floating keyboard on and off. I can't figure out how I accidentally turn the floating keyboard on. Anyway, this tip should help for Android 5.0.
