How do I go about replacing a Galaxy tab pro internal screen due to damage straight out of the box?

Galaxy tab pro internal screen damage

Hi,

I received a galaxy tab pro 8.4" from best buy for my birthday but as soon as I opened it I noticed That it had an internal crack on the top of the left side of the screen, but the glass is perfectly fine. Do you guys think it would be a problem to ask for an exchange? Is there any way I can show that I didn't drop it or something?

If you received a brand new device then yes, you should return it. Although minor in nature, the crack could be problematic in the future and it's best to prevent that now with a device that has a physical defect.

Yes it's brand new. I didn't use it for more than 15 minutes. First it was a crack and then it appeared lines and a gray square like if it had been smashed. I'm just worried that they tell me that I damaged it.

That's a tough one. The best you can do is bring it back to Best Buy as soon as possible and politely discuss the case with Customer Service there. Don't wait much longer--if you do, they'll wonder why you waited so long to bring it to their attention. If the person you talk to won't help, politely ask to speak with the manager. If you go to that Best Buy a lot, let them know you're a frequent customer. If you're a MyBestBuy rewards member with lots of points, remind them of that as well.

Some people go as far as to open tech purchases right at the store, so that any in-box damage can't be blamed on the consumer.

I've already called them and talked to the manager. She told me that if it doesn't have any physical damage it won't be a problem and as I said it has not a single scratch. I'm visiting the store on friday. What I don't understand is the actual meaning of physical damage.

Physical damage probably refers to dents and scuffs.
