Syncing and Restoring Google Backup

Hello. I sent my phone in for warranty and it reset to factory default. I logged into my google account and I don't know how to restore a backup as it was automatically backed up. How can I back up my contacts and messages? Also, are games that are connected to google games saved?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Syncing and Restoring Google Backup

I haven't used Google's backup before, but if you use Google's services in general you can just sync as you normally would. Personally I perfer to start from scratch, it allows spring cleaning and you may have some cruft left over you want to get rid of.

Re: Syncing and Restoring Google Backup

IF before you did the reset you had done the following:

1. In Settings > Backup & restore > enable Backup my data and Automatic restore were set then WiFi passwords, your apps in the Play store, home screens, Google calendar (unless calendar sync was turned off) will all automatically be restored when you do the initial setup and add your Google account.

2. Your contacts will automatically be downloaded, unless you did not save them to your Google account.

3. SMS/MMS are not backed up to your Google account. You must use a separate backup app to save those.

4. Game data is not backed up.

Android since v1.0. Linux user since 2001.
