AC Question

I see a lot of people asking how to get rid of an alarm notification that lingers but I have not been able to find anyone addressing my question. If, for example, I have OK Google set an alarm, I get the alarm icon in the system part of the notification bar.

I have other apps that use alarms and use the same notification icon and placement, such as SplenDO. If I forget which app I used for the alarm, how do I find out? If I drag down the bar, there is no info.

Without this info, I cannot change or cancel the alarm.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5, no root, Net10 service (AT&T reseller). Android 6.0.1.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Good question. If, once you see a notification, you pull down the bar and press on the notification icon it should tell you which app it's related to.

Unfortunately, it is not so simple. Notifications on the left side, the app side, of the notification bar will give info when you pull down the notification bar. Notifications on the right side do not.

I have an S8+ and is suddenly doing the same thing. I have no alarms on, yet the icon is there. If I wasn't so OCD it wouldn't be an issue. However, it bugs me that it's there for no apparent reason.

I was having the same problem of Clock Icon not disappearing from screen.
I am using Samsung J7 Max.
I checked my clock setting and no alarm was set.
I checked my workout applications and no alarm was set.
I went to Setting > Apps > and clicked on application which was recently downloaded / updated
Then clicked on Force Stop.
And it’s done.
You may do it with all apps. I know it is time consuming, but you are helpless.
I had updated a ‘FollowMee’ application on my J7 Max. From then, this problem started.
Above method was worked on my Samsung J7 Max.
You may try.
All the Best.
Thanks.

I'm having this problem too, and i really don't want to go through hundreds of apps to figure out which one is the culprit...

Has anyone found a more direct approach?

I found the solution. Force stop. But the question is, which app. It's not the clock app, but another app that sets alarms - different app for different people. For me, it was tasker, i had set "use reliable alarms". The way i found it, was, reboot, then go settings>Google>location, then, once the alarm icon reappeared, i tried force closing apps that had recently requested location one by one, and narrowed it down to what in my case was Tasker.
