How do I keep apps from opening when I have it on my pocket?

While listening to the radio, using headphones and the phone in my pocket apps open.

Do you have a lock screen set? Do you lock the phone before putting it in your pocket? Do you place the phone in your pocket facing your leg/body?

If the screen is not locked or is locked but no pattern or password to unlock it it's possible it's sensing touch through the fabric.

You could also use Proximity Service. It turns the screen off when the proximity detector detects something (like the inside of your pocket).

Isn't that supposed to happen for free as a feature of the Android OS?

When you're on a phone call, but I don't think the proximity sensor is normally used at any other time.

Samsung's can use it with a 'keep screen off while in pocket' toggle. No idea for non-Sammies.
