Some text applications have an option to show if they have been read. That would be in settings of the app.

From an AOSP M8.
If you open the text app you have, there should be a three dot button at the top. Click that and then settings. If a mark as read option is available it should be there.

Yes, but I had to uninstall it because when open the software the inbox of the software comes up. I don't want that. I already have the inbox itself.

There is an option in "SMS Setting" where you will see further option Delivery Report just make it On.
When this setting Enable you can get result soon..
