Android Central Question

Ok so I recently got a note 8 and my old s6 still worked. My friend had asked if he could use it so i said yes. So I reset the s6 so he could have a brand new phone but now I need to activate it again but I am not with the carrier anymore so I can't. Is there anything I can do so I use the phone again with out the carrier and just use Wi-Fi for it only?

Welcome to Android Central! Which carrier did you get the S6 from originally? Most major carriers sell these phones unlocked, so assuming you've paid it off and there's nothing outstanding on your account, you ought to be able to plug in a SIM from a different carrier. CDMA carriers like Verizon and Sprint can be a bit more of a pain, though.

If you're primarily asking how to bypass the carrier activation page (which makes me think you have a Verizon phone), let us know which carrier it's from.

Just to be clear -- are you stuck on the Verizon activation screen, or the Samsung account activation screen?

The last LG I bypassed by pressing up volume, down Volume and Back while powering up. This makes it like a little android tablet. Is that what you want?
