How do I migrate data & apps from Android 2.2.2 to Android 4.2.2?

How to migrate data & apps from Android 2.2.2 to Android 4.2.2

I have an LG Phoenix smart phone running Android 2.2.2 that I'm trying to upgrade to a Samsung S4 running Android 4.2.2. Neither phone is rooted.

Is there an easy way to migrate data and apps from my old phone to the S4? I'm not very familiar with Android...

There are some apps that might be able to help. Like Helium in the Play store.
