How Do I Move an SD Card between phones?

[Android Central Question]

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with a 128GB SD card.
How do I transfer the card to my new Samsung Galaxy S8 Note.
I want it to work in the note the same as it did in 7 Edge.

When I moved it into the Note 8 there were apps showing on the SD card!
When I moved it back to the 7 Edge they were there!.

Welcome to Android Central! If you use the "Move to SD" function to move a portion of an app to the SD card, the app won't magically transfer to the other phone along with the SD. It's only certain app data that gets moved to the SD -- the more important parts of the app have to remain on the SD card. You'd have to move the app back to Phone Storage, then transfer the SD card, then install the app on the new phone from the Play Store, then use the Move to SD feature.

If you're concerned about transferring app data (like game progress), you could try using something like Helium.
