How to move apps to External storage in Android M?

I have a Moto e 2nd Gen (4g LTE) and I currently updated to the new Android M.

Although I saw the new "adopt" feature of android M, I decided that it was not convenient for me and I decided to keep my SD card as external storage (portable card).

However, I quickly noticed that I could not move any apps to my external SD. Such a feature was available in Lolipop, which treated SD cards as external storage only. In fact, when using Lolipop I have moved some apps to the SD, which are now also available and stored in the SD using Android M. I know that in Lolipop not every app could be moved but at least for the apps that could be moved I was offered this option. Now, in android 6 I am not even offered this option and it gets even more confusing when I see that this option is available for compatibility reason for apps already in my external SD. ( This means, that this feature is actually supported but NOT OFFERED in Android M).

So my question is: Can you please enlighten me on whats happening? How can I move an app to SD just like I did with my lolipop?

To be clear, I am not willing to use SD as internal storage space. In my lolipop, I moved the apps using the features offered natively from android (so no "app" was used). I would prefer solutions that would work in a similar way and if not available then use an "app"

The only way to do it, is to adopt the SD card.

He is correct, you can move "Apps" to SD card but it's more or less just the Data of the app and not the app itself (I.E a game with 6.5GB of data) so that data doesn't take up internal but the APK stays on the phone

What about with an HTC 10? Because if I can at least move the data, I'd be perfectly happy with that, since the data of the app is the bulk of the amount of space an app takes up.
