Assuming it didn't actually freeze while updating (just during the download, or the root/ROM check), hold the power button down until it restarts (which could take up to 30 seconds).

If it restarts into nothingness, bring it to the carrier. Their update broke your phone, so they're going to have to refalsh the update (or th whole ROM - that's their problem).

I hope you keep everything important backed up, because you might lose everything on the phone.
