How to remove Google play pop up ads

I have these kinds of pop up ads that looks like it's coming from Google. These ads do not appear all the time but here and there. How do I get rid of them? Thanks!

Re: How to remove Google play pop up ads

Welcome to Android Central! They're not from Google--they're from some adware that you probably installed along with some other app (probably a game). The adware causes popup ads, and can also potentially open Google Play Store and direct you to the app page to entice you to install it. You'll have to uninstall apps one by one until the behavior goes away, because it's hard to pinpoint the app that carries the adware. You could try something like Lookout's Ad-Network Scanner & Detector, but I think those apps are mostly effective for ads that appear in the Notification Bar, not popups.

I have look out and signed up for it.
do i only get Lookout's Ad-Network Scanner & Detector when i upgrade?
i can not find it to scan my phone
i am getting both the notification bar and pop ups in playstore.

Welcome to the forums. What device do you have? It's unusual for ads to show up the the Play Store. I don't recall hearing about this before.

Re: How to remove Google play pop up ads

I've also had this problem before, and I found out it was called ad injection. The problem went away from my phone after a factory reset, but that's the only way I found to get rid of it so far though.

Hi all,

These pop-up ads are from Google play.
On the ad it states “google Play Ads”
I have tried everything, disabled, clear catch forced stop.Blocked permission, off the “apps that can change system settings” and they are stilll coming.

Those ads are not in an apps but an outside apps in the phone itself and is simply unacceptable when you think about it. Oral invasion to the max.

When I deleted all other apps installed, they kept coming.
Worst is tha in the middle of the day, your phone starts playing an add with sound.
Incredible.
Am so fuming.

Wrote to them. They act as if they don’t exist’

Imagine those who has apps they paid for.

Am outraged

Hello guys!
You can try this if it worked tell me..
Go to settings, click on google, click on personal info & privacy, click on add settings then turn off AD personalization.. thats it... 100% working on my phone.. hope it does to your phones aswell..

SOLVED!

I've had the same problem for several weeks.
It was simple to get rid of, though: Go to where active apps are listed. (On my Samsung Note4 it's pressing the left button.) There you locate the actual ad that has popped up, (NOT Play Store). Press and hold the upper left corner of the ad-tab. This opens the app which causes the problem in App-control. Just delete the app and the problem is gone. (For me it was Video Maker.)

It is not a Samsung, Android or Play Store problem. It's an app. A factory reset is not necessary and will only work if you do not reinstall the bad app.

Good luck!

Hey Jeff I got so mad and sick of that Play Store pop up I disable the Play Store I just use my browser to get app now until the antivirus and adware recognize whatever the hell these pop-ups are yeah this s*** is totally freaking annoying

Re: How do I remove Google Play pop on lock screen

I have had the Samsung S9 plus for a little over a week now and none of the fixes you all mention work. I uninstalled the Samsung Always On display and you can't disable it. I just keeps saying to update after uninstall. I went to Google Play Store and I have NOTHING new and I looked at recent updates. I turned off the ads under Google. I am at my wits end trying to turn this off. They started out of the blue this morning. Help!!!

Hi,
I am using Redmi note 5 pro.
just go to settings-->Notifications & status Bar.
in in this click on "App notifications" and then select the app for u want to disable notificatios.

I just tried something new on my S9+and no ads so far.. Go to settings, Apps, tap the 3 dots upper right corner, tab Special Access, tap Apps that can appear on top, Scroll down to Google Play Services and turn off the toggle.

Let me know if it worked for you too.. Good Luck!

This is beyond silly. I have headphones in my phone to keep the popping up. Has anyone found out what is causing this? I have taken off all apps but ggogle rewards, DUO and Edmodo. This is still going on. Youo guys need to come up with a fix. All of us cannot have the same issue we do not all use the same apps our lifestyles are different our app needs are different.

^ None of these things is anything to do with Android Central. You could send feedback to Google, with whom we have no affiliation.

Does your trouble persist in Safe Mode?

Thanks BjornK!

I had been looking in settings four a way to see which apps were running and it wasn't until you mentioned it that I was able to use the left button to get the screen with all all the apps that were in use.
That step was key because you can get to that button without closing the ad. (Once you close the ad, then it doesn't show up in the list anymore.)
In my case it was a solitaire game that I had downloaded to my previous phone and hadn't used in so long i had forgotten i had it. Not sure what's different, but somehow after i switched from my s5 mini to a j3 2018 using "smart switch" to copy over everything, it was able to push those ads through.

Started happening to me a week or so ago, think it could be apps I've downloaded for the Samsung gear. Annoying, plays full screen ads randomly even during a phone call. Heading of ads app is "Promotion" but I can't find that word anywhere in apps etc. Help!
