how do I remove my lock screen with broken lcd and digitizer

I have smashed my phone up and want to get all my photos off of it before I send it away for repair. Unfortunatly I had a thumb print lock on it when it decided to not work anymore and so I cannot unlock it as that doesnt apear to work either. I know my google password to unlock it if you get it wrong so many times but I cannot get onto that part and don't have the right HDMI adaptor for my phone.
I have tried rooting the phone to see if I can get into it that way but no such luck, and it's going to be a couple of days till my new adaptor arrives, which has a usb port on it as well so I can attatch a mouse or keyboard, and also dont have usb debugging mode enabled. Can any one help me at all, I have lots of pictures of my kids that I can't get back if I can't do any of this. Thanks for your time.

Welcome to Android Central! If you weren't using fingerprint unlock, I'd suggest this guide: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...de-accessing-locked-phone-cracked-screen.html. But since you have fingerprint unlock activated, I'm not sure if the phone will know that you're failing the fingerprint unlock so that it prompts you for your backup password.

On the login screen you can always choose to enter your password and bypass the fingerprint.
To access your phone you will likely need to purchase an adapter to allow you to connect to a mouse and an hdmi cable for external monitor. I had to do this with an s4 and it worked great.
