Retain unlimited data while adding a line and moving my number to the new line. Help!

Hi all,

I did some searches but didn't come up with a firm answer.

I have a line with unlimited data (I'll call it line 1). I want to add a line to my account (line 2) and move my phone number from line 1 to line 2. Then I want to port a new number from another carrier to line 1 so it can take over my unlimited data feature.

Can this be done? I talked to 2 ATT phone reps (non-supervisors) and they said it can't. The only thing I could do is give up my line 1 number to the port, but I can't do that.

I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks so much!

I don't think so. The second line 1 doesn't have a number on it the system will cancel the number. The only way would be for customer service to assist but I don't think they will since they want people off of unlimited.

I'd just call as if you might cancel your service. They will work with you more than likely. One thing I like about att is they are good about getting you what you need. Just tell them your needs. Its not a for sure thing but worth a shot!
