how do I retrieve left sidebar multi window of appd. I have it then it goes away

At times there's a white tab on left of screen when tapped it comes out with apps on it facebook.gmail.email.etc. but then it seems to disappear how do I get it to return? Or what is making it go away. Sidebar multi window ??

This may sound simplistic but its all i know Pull down your Notifications, select the icon in the top right corner (looks like 3 squares and a double arrows) and ensure that that the Multi Window is enabled (green). This should keep the little white tab on your homescreen. Good luck.
